In the letter, ensure you include a copy of your credit report with the item or items in dispute circled, and any documentation that will help support your claim. It is also important to include your name, address, the name and address of the credit reporting agency. Ensure that the address has the full and complete city, state, and zip code.

The content should be direct and simple. There is no need to write a lengthy letter. Understand that the credit bureau officers will receive thousands of letters everyday.
