It is widely known that the MBA or Master of Business Administration degree is still the most sought after degree among college students in the nation. It is also the most popular degree to obtain for adult professionals seeking advancement in a business career.

According to payscale.com, employees holding MBA’s earn the following: CFO’s in average, make between $96,000 to $169,000 per year. The median salary for a Human Resources Manager is between $50,000 to $78,000, and Marketing Directors make between $82,000 to $141,000 annually. CEO’s make $200,000 and on up beyond what I can numerically type in this post. The bottom line is that an MBA is often the key to putting yourself ahead of the pack and getting into jobs that pay salaries that lead to a comfortable financial being.

The biggest mistake that recent college graduates make is that they did not begin seeking internships and jobs that would provide experience on their resume. An MBA without related experience is an uphill battle for many. Although the MBA is still a highly popular educational path, it must be augmented with proof that you can carry out these highly responsible roles.

This is why many are now choosing to obtain a bachelor’s degree in business administration, then get entry level roles in companies they can grow in. Then, after a few years of experience, pursue their MBA through an online program. Another strategy is to pursue an MBA with a less popular concentration such as a human resources masters degree or it’s sister degree, the HR MBA, instead of the usual focuses in finance or management. One thing is certain, you can join the bandwagon of young ambitious students pushing through their education without pausing, or you can think of strategies to make yourself stand out from the pack. Finding a niche such as nonprofit management or green industries management is one way to set yourself apart. A student who achieves combines an MBA with additional knowledge in a specific sector or industry will have a much better chance of finding a rewarding job sooner.
