Building Revenue Growth through Focus, Speed, and Customer Obsession

Cam Harold, Chief Revenue Officer, Push Operations

Cam Harold, Chief Revenue Officer at Push Operations, has built his leadership approach through experiences spanning payroll operations, sales, healthcare technology, and workforce management.

Harold’s early connection with PointClickCare became a defining chapter. He first entered the company as an intern, gaining exposure across marketing, sales, and customer support before returning later as a sales development representative. Watching the company evolve from a smaller organization into one of Canada’s largest privately held technology companies gave him insight into scaling operations while maintaining.

His time inside PointClickCare's incubation team gave Harold an opportunity to operate at the intersection of a large enterprise and a startup. An experience that would later shape how he approached building Push Operations' revenue organization. The experience allowed him to work closely with executives and understand how product, engineering, marketing, and revenue teams operate together. That combination of enterprise discipline and startup agility prepared him for Push Operations, where he joined at an earlier stage of the company’s growth. Since 2022, Push Operations has nearly quadrupled recurring revenue, growing MRR by approximately 300%. Along the way, Harold’s role expanded from leading sales to building and leading a revenue organization spanning sales, marketing, partnerships, onboarding, customer success, expansion, and revenue operations.

Architecting a Unified Revenue Organization

At Push Operations, Harold focused on bringing revenue functions together through a unified operating model. Inspired by revenue architecture principles, he worked to create alignment across sales, marketing, onboarding, partnerships, and customer success. His goal was to ensure every team shared common objectives and viewed the customer journey through the same lens.

“The biggest point of this is, it’s all about one common language between all the teams, shared goals, shared OKRs, shared KPIs across the team,” Harold says.

This approach helped establish stronger collaboration and a consistent customer experience, from initial engagement and implementation through adoption, expansion, and long-term partnership. Quarterly leadership offsites became a key part of maintaining alignment, allowing teams to solve challenges together and stay focused on outcomes.

Differentiating in a Competitive Market

The workforce management and payroll technology sector is crowded, but Harold believes Push Operations has created a distinct position by focusing deeply on multi-unit restaurants. Rather than attempting to serve every industry, the company concentrates on understanding the needs of hospitality operators.

“ Revenue isn’t owned by one department. The best revenue organizations operate with one common language across every team: shared goals, shared KPIs, and shared accountability for the customer outcome. “

Push Operations differentiates itself through its integrated platform, combining scheduling, payroll, hiring, onboarding, reporting, and insights. Built as a single platform from the beginning, the solution provides an advantage over competitors that often combine separate systems through acquisitions or integrations.

Harold emphasizes the importance of being payroll-first. Since payroll is complex and mission-critical, building expertise in this area has created a foundation for broader workforce solutions. Customer obsession and innovation remain central to maintaining that advantage.

Scaling With Leadership, Data, and Speed

As Push Operations continues growing, Harold sees leadership development, data architecture, and artificial intelligence as essential priorities. Building strong leaders internally while attracting experienced talent allows the company to scale effectively. A strong data foundation enables AI to become a force multiplier across the organization.

For Harold, speed remains one of Push Operations’ strongest competitive advantages. As a bootstrap company, the organization must find creative ways to grow efficiently while making strategic decisions quickly. Moving faster, testing ideas, and learning from outcomes allow the company to compete against larger organizations. He mentions, “We're competing against billiondollar companies. By the time they've had 20 meetings about something, we should have tried it 10 times, failed, learned, and found a better way.”

A Leadership Philosophy Built on Learning

Harold encourages revenue leaders to remain curious and avoid measuring activity instead of results. He believes asking why something succeeds is as important as understanding failure because success can only be repeated when its causes are understood.

His advice to emerging leaders centers on humility and continuous learning. “The moment you think you have all the answers, you stop growing,” Harold says. “If you're leading a $25 million company that wants to become a $50 million company, you have to ask whether you're already becoming the leader that $50 million company needs. My job isn't to be the smartest person in every room. It's to keep learning, surround myself with great people, and help them become better leaders than they were yesterday.”

Through experience, curiosity, and collaboration, Harold continues to build a revenue organization designed for growth. His leadership reflects a belief that sustainable success comes from aligned teams, customer-focused innovation, and willingness to evolve.
